Welcome and Happy Birthday

It's 2013 and, since the world did NOT end, it's that time of year when we all START OVER and try desperately to stick to our resolutions. It shouldn't be hard for me to stick to my resolutions, however, because I made none.

I did get to see some live music last night at a bar, courtesy of a dear friend of mine who took me out for my birthday. (I'm going to be 34 in 3 minutes). Weaving in and out of the drunken crowd, socializing with people old enough to drink (I work with kids, so most of the people I see on a regular basis are under the age of 11) and FEELING that music made me realize that I desperately need to make time for that part of myself.

So, here you are. I welcome you. This blog is my heart. Writing song lyrics (and melodies...which I can't really show here, but they DO exist) is my only proven way to reach emotional focus. Read. Comment. Criticize constructively.
